Covent Square (130 King Street, London, Ontario N6A 1C5, Covent Garden)
The Covent Garden area has long been associated with both entertainment and shopping, and this continues today. Covent Garden has 13 theatres, and over 60 pubs and bars, with most south of Long Acre, around the main shopping area of the old market.
The Seven Dials area in the north of Covent Garden was home to the punk rock club The Roxy in 1977, and the area remains focused on young people with its trendy mid-market retail outlets. The area also hosts many street performances as well. The Market is open daily with varying hours; Monday- Saturday 8am to 6pm, and Sunday 11am to 4pm.
Stonehenge (2 miles W of Amesbury on junction of A303 and A344/A360)
Stonehenge is surely Britain's greatest national icon, symbolizing mystery, power and endurance. Its original purpose is unclear to us, but some have speculated that it was a temple made for the worship of ancient earth deities. It has been called an astronomical observatory for marking significant events on the prehistoric calendar. Others claim that it was a sacred site for the burial of high-ranking citizens from the societies of long ago. Admission is 6.90 Euros and it is open daily during the winter from 9:30am to 4pm. Even though it costs some money, it still seems like it would be amazing.
